Well, we finished Flushing a few months ago - it was quite a push with pretty much just the two of us, and the job grew to include a new kitchen refit (originally only going to be prepared & painted.) We started at the top and came right down through the house, stripping paper, re-rending & plastering, part re-wire, removal & refitting of all the doors (lots & lots of doors!) with new hinges & handles, new radiators, new skirting boards, new bannisters, thorough sand down of all woodwork, and of course, painted throughout!
I was soo excited for the clients to see the final results and am pleased to say they were thrilled – there was proper welling-up on both sides!! (From us ladies at least!) As required, we transformed a tired, old and smoky house into a peaceful, clean and airy home! It looks absolutely amazing now with new carpets throughout, and the windows & walls all dressed, where the Hamptons meets a little bit of shabby chic.
With the clients en-route, we did consider changing all the locks & denying all knowledge of who they were - haha!
But alas, (back home to typical builders house - not finished!!) - and on to the next job! We worked on the exterior of a commercial property in Truro. Made some repairs to the window frames, painted them, the gutters & the walls. What a lovely group of office workers who kept the coffee flowing. Big thumbs up there!
We are now working on a holiday flat in a complex on the outskirts of Newquay. We’ve stripped out old T&G wall panelling, and replaced with plasterboard which we’ve drylined. Skirting boards are off, painted & ready to be replaced. New laminate flooring laid. Bannisters & walls to paint.
Missed out on decorating a few rooms for TV show, The Hotel Inspector, filming down here in Cornwall, that would have been fun but we were not dealing direct.
Have some other short-ish jobs lined up and a tonne of admin work to do!! SOOOO behind in that department that we seriously need to be office bound for a week or two very soon. Hoping to get another whole-house project management based job – but need to advertise!!!!!! Leaflets & sign writing the van is the current plan.
