Cottage Bedroom Renovation, Cubert

EGD Renovations renovated two bedrooms and stairwell in this traditional cottage in Cubert. The property featured stone and cob walls with tongue and groove ceilings, requiring sympathetic renovation using traditional techniques. The client was delighted with the transformation.

Works included:

Removal of wallpaper and cement-based render from walls to reveal stone & cob walls and a surprise fireplace!
Removal of internal wall to reveal alcove
Raking out between stonework and lime pointing around stones
Lime plastering to cob walls
Dry-lining of alcove
Addition of missing tongue and groove ceiling sections
Sanding and oiling floorboards
Re-direction of electrics
Construction of window seat
Removal of carpet from stairs
Stain blocking and painting tongue and groove ceilings white
Painting and decorating throughout
