Film and TV Set Construction, Cornwall and Dartmoor

 

EGD Renovations has provided set construction services for film and television productions, building functional sets under tight deadlines for major commercial shoots. Our experience includes constructing a working shower in a remote Dartmoor barn for Dove Soap and creating a boat interior set for Youngs Breaded Fish at the RNLI building in Padstow. Both projects showcased our ability to problem-solve in challenging locations and deliver professional results for production companies.

Dove Soap Commercial
Built a fully functional temporary shower with moveable walls in a remote stone barn near Princetown for a Dove Soap commercial shoot.

• Construction of moveable plywood flats

• Plywood floor construction

• Connection to existing barn drainage system

• Water supply from well with pump system 

• High pressure hot water feed installation

• Electrical supply to remote barn

• Brick-laid metro tile installation

• Complete build in 2 days working into early hours

 

Youngs Breaded Fish Commercial

Built timber structure replicating boat interior with portholes and ladder for Youngs Breaded Fish commercial at RNLI building in Port Issac.

Background: EGD Renovations' involvement in film and TV set construction began through work on the Doc Martin television series, where Steve worked in construction and Iona in set painting. This led to commissions for commercial advertising sets requiring specialist building skills and rapid turnaround times.​
