External Painting and Damp Repair, Lantern Cottage, Cubert Methodist Chapel


EGD Renovations completed external painting and damp repair works to the historic Cubert Methodist Church, a building of significant heritage importance to the village. The church, which commemorates Reverend John Wesley's first visit to Cubert in 1751, required careful restoration work to address damp issues while preserving its historic character. The project involved replacing a failed timber-framed external wall with appropriate breathable materials, complete external repainting, and gutter repairs.

  • External painting to walls and chimney

  • Investigation and repair of damp external wall

  • Removal of failed timber-framed wall with render

  • Installation of insulation with breathable membrane

  • Fitting of exterior wallboard

  • Application of new render and paint using breathable materials

  • Repair of faulty guttering above repaired wall area

  • Work carried out on historic Methodist church building (built 1765)

  • Full project management with sensitivity to heritage building requirements
